**Pirarucu**

The pirarucu, often found closer than one might expect, is renowned for its impressive size and rarity among freshwater fish. Within their territory, their numbers are scarce, making them seldom used for consumption. Only a handful of distinguished fishers have managed to catch them, adding to their mystique. Due to their rarity, they are neither domesticated for culinary purposes nor kept as pets. Instead, their scarcity alone commands a high market value.
