The deposed Queen Jang Jeongok, who had plotted the escape of the dethroned Crown Prince Yeong, met her end by royal poison. Upon hearing the news, the king mourned, lamenting the cyclical nature of fate. He then decreed that her funeral be conducted with the utmost honor and generosity.
