A Valkyrie's Prayer

As always, today I pray for her return—for the warm and compassionate soul who once watched over us. We are ready to follow you at any moment. I have prayed without ceasing. Yet perhaps my prayers are insufficient, for she continues onward the other way without hesitation. Though I plead more desperately each day, I fear it may no longer matter. The time of choice draws near. Like the comrade who walked before me, I too will tread my own path with resolve.
