The opinions about Lecenin are divided in two. Some say he is a castaway Shai, swept here by the storm, while others believe he simply refuses to leave out of pure laziness.

Yet, it is the latter view that most people hold. No matter how many try to take him away, he simply replies, "Ah! Don't bother me, I'm too lazy!" According to the testimony of a sailor from Velia, Lecenin's constant complaint of being "hungry" is little more than a habit. He's perfectly capable of finding food for himself, but he despises moving more than anything else.

It seems that unless he is truly at death's door, Lecenin will not so much as lift a finger.
