Mokassa NPC Knowledge suggests that you use Lapis Lazuli Knowledge Item as the gift. She said you can get it from Lapis Lazuli crabs nearby. Obtain Lapis Lazuli from Lapis Lazuli Crabs and get it to the Fadus.
