## Objective

Don't Know Until It's Gone

It had been quite some time since we had such a quiet weekend. Of course, thanks to Dora making me do all the cleaning and laundry, I quickly saw any hope of leisure evaporate before my eyes. I might complain about Dora's nagging, but I do feel thankful for her companionship, for her being with me all this time. We have lived happily as if we owned the entire world, despite not being blessed with a child. We were so fortunate in every other way that perhaps that was why God didn't grant us a child.

It had been a while since I made a gift for my hardworking wife, so I decided to make her some spectacular coral jewelry just as I did 10 years ago. She already has a coral ring from me so I decided to make her another ring to match. Once it was finished, I helped slide it onto Dora's finger. She looked at me bewildered, then broke into tears. I was surprised that she was so touched by this gesture.

I hope that this means I will be allowed to sleep in for at least a week.
