Yonal's worker tells you to keep going until you reach a path beneath the cliff, which is a one-way trip. Go outside and find someone you can trust to leave the slate with.

at a short cliff. Don't be alarmed. It's a short way down.
Yet, if you seek to return to this place,
you'll need to come back all the way from the entrance.
I'm not sure why you'd want to come back, but regardless,
if you understood what I said up until now, just follow the path.
