I admitted to everything, and lost my rights to everything I'd worked for. 

I had to start from the beginning again. I can talk about this matter-of-fact now, 

But I wanted to leave it all behind. I couldn't give up, though.

I felt that if I failed here, I'd fail anywhere else. So I volunteered for the much shunned grave excavation project.

Breathing in the eerie air, my life threatened at any turn, I dug and dug for graves.
