Chapter 5: The Runaway

One day, Maewol's fiancé came to the Donghae Office. Taking advantage of his past as a Tigerslayer, the Yeongam of the East appointed as the commander of Beombawi Valley.

This appointment came right when tiger attacks were beginning to occur in Beombawi Valley. He had to leave in a hurry, without the chance to say goodbye to Maewol. He left behind a small trinket as a memento, promising to return.

Was the Yeongam's appointment of Maewol's fiancé all a ruse? Soon after, the only news that came were the chilling rumors that Maewol's fiancé had been attacked by a tiger. Even before Maewol's tears could dry, with no one in his way any longer, the Yeongam of the East orders her to come to him.

However, determined to escape and avoid being captured, Maewol decided to cross the dangerous Dokkebi Forest at night. Dokkebi are friends to Humans, but at that time, they were feared and avoided by many people.
