It was impossible for the two groups to have a conversation. Kuschel asked you to help him and his team to get past them.

I guess we'll have to take the hard way.
.. Unfortunately, we cannot face them on our own because
only a couple of guards are accompanying us for the research.
We can't just order the guards to sacrifice themselves for our safety.
They're not our private guards.
They keep us safe, but not our research.
We were more aggressive with our research when we first arrived here,
but we got nowhere despite the sacrifices that were made.

Please reduce their numbers so that we may escape this place.
If not, please divert their attention.
We'll try to do what we can afterwards.
I will give you a generous amount for completing the task.
