The Black Spirit NPC Knowledge tells you that a modified Black Crystal Knowledge Item may be behind the petrifications and tells you to go and investigate the Petrified Miners.
Find the belongings of the Petrified Miners;Search for a clue from the Junk Golems;Search for a clue from the Junk Piles;
