After my fleeting encounter with the Root Nymph, I wandered aimlessly through the forest, only to come face to face with a majestic elk bearing grand antlers. Its presence was unlike any other, and I couldn't help but gasp in awe. The elk's eyes were pure and crystalline, its fur gleaming with an ethereal sheen. It stirred a primal excitement within me, one I hadn't felt in ages. 

Hastily, I drew my matchlock and approached with the stealth of a shadow. I crept through the underbrush, inching closer, wary of startling the magnificent creature. At last, the elk was within my range. In the stillness, the only sound was the pounding of my heart. I held my breath and squeezed the trigger. The crack of the matchlock shattered the silence, and the elk crumpled to the ground.

Just then, a small child emerged, clutching a slingshot. The child claimed the kill and struggled to drag the fallen elk. Amused by the sight, I feigned concession. The child, noticing my amusement, mentioned that their dwelling was nearby and proposed a share of the elk if I assisted in carrying it.
