I was traveling through the desert atop my camel. Usually the desert remains deserted with no remarkable landmarks in sight, but I happened upon a lone cactus.

To conserve my water supply, and apply some of the knowledge I learned at the oasis, I drew closer to the cactus.

For I had learned how to gather water in the desert at the oasis, and one of those methods was to squeeze it out of a cactus. I never knew I'd have the opportunity to utilize this freshly-attained knowledge so quickly, but all of a sudden, the ground began to quake.

What revealed itself, as it dusted off the sands covering its form (which, in hindsight, was rather pointless), was a sand spirit. I'd only heard rumors of these and never thought I'd meet one in person.

As it raised its limbs to attack, I immediately leapt upon my camel, turned tail and retreated, bravely, I might add.

No point of getting into meaningless fights in the desert, as they say.
