Chapter 1: The Dokkebi and Mr. Kims

Long, long ago, in the Land of the Morning Light, the Dokkebi lived among the humans and had a particular fondness for them, calling them all Mr. Kims, perhaps after their first encounter with an actual man named Mr. Kim. The Dokkebi created the Dokkebi Forest, which was full of giant rocks and trees.

As time passed, Soopmol Village was founded in the Dokkebi Forest for Humans. Whenever a Human was born in Soopmol, the Dokkebi would hold a feast to celebrate. The Dokkebi also mourned for the 
death of Humans, which illustrated the close bond between the Mr. Kims of Soopmol and the Dokkebi. 

In Soopmol, they enjoyed their daily lives with feasts of pork and buckwheat jelly, sweet-tasting booze, and wrestling matches that always thrilled the spectators.

But among the Dokkebi, there was one that stood out, the most fearsome-looking and the best wrestler of them all, the Dokkebi that had played the most tricks on Mr. Kims. He was known as King Duoksini, the best among the powerful Dokkebi.
