The Black Spirit NPC Knowledge suggests you use the Ancient Light to defeat Belmorn.

※ You can retry the quest by canceling and receiving it again. However, you must discard the Summon Scroll in order to receive a new quest.
Interact with the Dark Portal and use the Light of Ancient Origin to defeat Belmorn;

you got from that old man and shine it towards Belmorn!
