Shepeh used to be a vigorous, healthy worker at the 
charcoal workshop just a few years ago. Then one day, while he was loading a wagon with wood to be used for charcoal, he saw a trade wagon speed towards him on a collision course. Shepeh managed to dive out of the way of the wagon, but injured his back in the process. Charbonneau took pity on the discouraged Shepeh and gave him the simple task of drying, tending, and selling the fish caught near the villa. He now works as a butler under Charbonneau.
