Capture monsters?

Quest Text I heard monsters appear every now and then... But I don't think we've captured enough to investigate.
Don't you think we'll need to capture more monsters in order to put an end to this battle?

Summary How are we going to investigate the captured monsters...?
I assume that investigation here would refer to performing experiments on monsters.
