Desert's Breath

I gave those bandits the slip easier than the Shultz Guards. Somehow it landed me on the edge of that fabled desert stretching across Valencia.

Out of the frying pan, into the fire, eh? I did consider turnin' right back around at first, truth be told. But then who would I be?

Here I am, standing on sands soaked with the blood of ancient battle. This land is brimmin' with history!

Any herald worth his salt wouldn't pass up this opportunity. I scrounged up some purified water Knowledge Item to stay hydrated and procured some star anise tea Knowledge Item to stay warm through the cold desert nights.

I made it a full fifteen minutes into the desert before realizing how reckless I was. There's things out there I've never seen before and I swear it ain't just the imaginin's of my heat-addled brain.

I stumbled upon a strange black hole like the mouth of the desert herself. Each breath the desert took drew me toward its center 'til I was inhaled entirely.
