Chapter 3: A Night of Bloodshed

The traveler and Dolswe NPC Knowledge suppressed the rebels and proceeded to Geunjeongjeon Hall. There, Jang Daeseung NPC Knowledge was gathered with the court officials, deep in discussion. Behind them, the Crown Prince stood alone, with a forlorn expression.

"Today, the deposed Crown Prince made his decision for the greater good. And so... in honor of his will, I will cast out the false prince and enthrone our true king!"
"True king...? The son of the deposed king, Jeongmyeong?
"The deposed Crown Prince! You're saying he still lives?"

At that moment, a brave righteous official spoke up to Jang Daeseung.

"This is wrong and you know it! The late king clearly named his successor! As a loyal servant of the nation, how could you oppose his will! Also— Argh!"

Yet... one of Jang Daeseung's subordinates took his life. Unspeakable fear overcame the remaining officials.

The Crown Prince shouted, but Jang Daeseung pretended not to hear. The officials were silent, lumps in their throats.

"The coronation of the true king will be held in the morning. Guards! Imprison the false prince in the—"

At that moment, the traveler and Mongryong arrived in front of Geunjeongjeon Hall.

"Hold it right there! Do not speak another word, traitor."

The appearance of the traveler and Mongryong caused a stir among the officials. Jang Daeseung tried to remain composed, but everyone was shocked by what Mongryong said next.

"Heed my words! Our late king was poisoned! And the culprit is here with us!!"
