Tiu the Alchemist believes that the strange phenomenon was caused by Alchemy or Black Magic. Go to the Library of Elric Shrine and look for clues.

Thanks. Let me cut to the chase.
The problem is that there are not many relevant documents.
Most of the forbidden books are sealed or have disappeared, so
a simple Alchemist like myself can't access them.
Although the Library at Elric Shrine has been captured by Cultists,
it might be more useful to look there.
It is a dangerous place, but if you ever find any documents
relating to this dark force, please do tell me.
