Objective
Derek Nimms NPC Knowledge showed you a talisman that Evergart NPC Knowledge has scored notches all over. He suggests you set sail to find you answers.

After suffering a crushing defeat at the Battle of Dandelion,
us Goyen Mercenaries dispersed to the four corners of the world.
Some settled down to start families. Others went in business.
Some even sought adventure... but we didn't see the likes of them again.
Many who had lost their senses instinctively came to this place,
so I made Heidal my home in order to guide them and keep Goyen's legacy alive...
But Evergart NPC Knowledge... He was quite unlike the others.

Was it the trauma of seeing Goyen fall in the Battle of Dandelion?
Or regret? Or simply a need for revenge? Whatever drove Evergart... it consumed him.
I recall the day he found a talisman with strange symbols scrawled over it.
I'm no expert, but I know forbidden symbols when I see them. I have it here, if you want to see.

Looks like a star, doesn't it? Evergart NPC Knowledge was never the artistic type.
No... It's actually a depiction of a crow.
He'd go over those notches time and again, just carving away at them.
It became an obsession.
I've heard tales of your own repute, you know. All your adventures.
So I want you to take this talisman. Don't look at me like that.
I know you sought me only to find the Isle of Mist.
I was never one for the sea, actually.
But I've heard many sailors tell terrifying tales over the brim of their ale mugs.
An island where the crows caw incessantly, day and night.
A place only the invited may enter. An island known simply as Crow's Nest.
This talisman may be the key.
And should you find Evergart...
Tell him it's time to let go of the burden he carries in his heart.
Tell him it's time to come home.
