Chapter 5: Jordine NPC Knowledge's Truth
At last, Jordine seemed ready to speak with me. I could not begin to fathom what was going through his mind, so I demanded, "What is your true intention?" Jordine simply smiled and answered:
"A man, lost to vengeance and darkness, meets a friend... and remembers what truly matters. So, with a body already fading, he throws himself toward a purpose greater than himself. That is all there is to it."
He was the one who betrayed me atop the Everfrost, and now he dares call me friend. Yet the words that followed revealed a truth I never expected.
"What we pursued, believing it to be Ynix, was but a fragment, scattered by the Primordial Darkness."
It was the Primordial Darkness itself that had granted Jordine his power, but now he seemed to resist its will. At the edge of his suffering, he recalled the journey we once shared.
"This world is bound in an endless cycle, tightly chained by fate. I aim to be the one to break that chain—not some hero forging a new world through vengeance, but the very stone beneath its foundation."
Though I struggled to grasp the full meaning of his words, Jordine claimed he even knew why the Ancients, thousands of years ago, could leave their prophecies etched in stone. He said I would find the answers, not far from here.
