Chapter 1: An Unexpected Reunion

I spun around when a familiar voice sounded out of nowhere—and there stood Jordine NPC Knowledge, looking just as young as when I'd first met him in The Magnus NPC Knowledge.

"Well met at last, friend.
You came looking for <b>me</b> too, didn't you?"

Turns out, he already knew I'd met the <b>real Jordine</b> at the Society of Equilibrium. Word travels fast among adventurers, and rumors have been flying everywhere.

"They say if you become the King of Edana, you can break free from the Black Spirit NPC Knowledge's hold and master it, reborn anew. That's why every adventurer possessed by a Black Spirit NPC Knowledge is flocking here. If you're doomed to be consumed, may as well fight back, no?"

Orwen told me that the rumor was only one of many theories circulating at the Society. The only related record they have is, "The <b>King of Kabua</b> overcame the darkness."

Still, Bahram NPC Knowledge's tale about Blackstar's salvation sounded similar, so the Society guessed the king might gain some special power.

With Jordine now with us, we set off for Aetherion Castle. It was built in a style unlike anything else on the continent. How did anyone manage to construct such a massive fortress here?
