According to Batermann NPC Knowledge, most of the stuff floating on the sea used to belong to some pirates. A wrecked ship in Peyon Sea might give you a clue.

※ In the Ross Sea near Margoria, navigation is unavailable. After investigating the shipwreck, check the world map and head straight to your 12 o'clock to reach Baman.
