First Meeting, First Love, First Memory

I met and fell in love with my wife through a flurry of strange requests. One day, out of the blue she approached me at my workshop. She claimed she had heard rumors of my craftsmanship, handed me a jewel, and asked that I set the stone for her in a ring. I was so surprised, I didn't even ask her what was it for. I silently carried on and set the jewel for her, no questions asked. From then on, she would stop by my workshop, time to time, showing off precious stones she had in her possession, especially her collection of rings and necklaces.

One day, she brought me some pieces of coral... She had quite a few of them, and asked if I could turn set into rings. I told her I don't know if I could, but she just requested I make two rings from them and went on her way. Never before in my life had I been requested to make coral rings. She was the first. I worked all day and night and barely finished them by the time she returned. She nearly leaped with joy at the sight of the rings.

She took one, placed it on my finger and declared that I should be with her. I was glad I had put off marriage until them.
