[Storybook] Tale of the Geuseunsae

Black Spirit

Objective
Chapter 1: Gowun Plateau

In the lush reed fields of Gowun Plateau, there is a saying:

"Sweeping in the morning brings in blessings, in the evening, it sweeps misfortune away."

You might wonder, don't the reeds just sway listlessly in the wind? Far from it! Reeds have so many uses.

Young sprouts can be eaten as seasoned greens, while roots can be used as herbs in apothecaries! Mature reeds are used to make items like baskets and even house roofs. They are also used as feed for cows and fertilizer for fields.

Gowun Plateau, covered in reeds like the sea, was a land of grace.

Fertile lands like this would have enticed the powerful and wealthy, yet the people of Donghae Province long deemed Gowun Plateau to be no one's land, but simply a blessing from the king, and they gratefully cultivated it.

Hence, Gowun Plateau was vital communal farmland, where people harvested reeds each season to sustain their livelihoods. There were so many reeds that population growth posed no issue.

It could even house all the people of Soopmol Village, whose homes were destroyed by the Dokkebi King Duoksini NPC Knowledge's furious lightning.
