Black Spirit

Objective
Chapter 2: Tumaini

When I explained that I am the officially-recognized Edana by Bahram NPC Knowledge, and that I have been sent to aid the scouts, the Hashashin gave a sheepish grin and asked if I'd really been wandering here all by myself. He said it must've been the mermaid's song that lured me in.

Introducing himself as Tumaini, the Hashashin revealed he is a messenger, charged with delivering news to the sanctuary and avoiding the thick of battle. He assured me that the scouts here are strong—though they may be wounded, he believes they are surely alive.

Seeing that Tumaini's leg was injured, I went to gather wood for a splint. While putting on the splint, Tumaini began to share his story.

"We give up everything to become Hashashins. No homes. No families. Just duty."

He spoke of a life once lived with his family, far from the village. One night, Ibedor's servants stormed their home. Tumaini confessed he fled, leaving his loved ones behind—a coward, orphaned in an instant. It was only by crossing paths with a pilgrim Hashashin that he made it this far.

"I want to find him just as much as I want to find my family, but I don't know if I ever will. Hahaha."

Tumaini said his younger brother's necklace had gone missing from the house. Hoping to find him, he joined the scouting party for the right to pilgrimage.
