That letter!
That letter holds the truth about the curse that haunts the seas near Epheria.
The curse is s not caused by the ancient civilization, but by the restless spirits that you saw.
Those spirits were once foreigners that came to this region a hundred years ago and met my ancestors.
Nobody knows why they came here.
However, it was certain that their civilization was an advanced one.
The ship was loaded with advanced technology far beyond that of my ancestors.
My ancestors felt threatened upon seeing that.
As a result, they did something they shouldn't have done.
They secretly requested help from the mainland
and massacred all of the foreigners without even listening to what they had to say.
Afterwards, they did whatever it took to erase all traces of what happened.
Those massacred people were labeled as pirates, the Vell Pirates to be exact,
so we could say we were defending ourselves from pirates.
The name was taken from a strange creature they kept as a pet
a creature with a snake-like head with octopus Knowledge Item-like tentacles they called Vellalops.
This here the piece of the letter that was ripped off.
You should show this to one of the restless spirits.
