[Storybook] Tale of the Gumiho

Chapter 6: A Barefaced Lie

Sympathizing with the Gumiho NPC Knowledge, the traveler and Dolswe NPC Knowledge decide to help her. However, while defeating bandits and investigating the cuckoo nest that has become of Yeowoo Pass, they come across a strange stele.

A stele that the bandits were protecting with their lives... Befuddled, they go to Seungsan NPC Knowledge for answers. Upon inspecting the inscription on the stele, Seungsan tells them that it is part of a Gumiho's spell. He warns them that this is no ordinary spell and asks them to find eight more of these steles.

The truth unfolds when all nine steles are found: The spell was meant to entice the souls of the living to use as sacrifice. The bandits were not here to threaten Mihyun, but quite the opposite. Their souls had already been coaxed by Mihyun, with which she planned to unleash a devastating plague upon the village. The plague that was to come from across the sea had been a barefaced lie.

The traveler, Dolswe, and Seungsan return to the ruins of Bomnae County and uncover the roots of the plague in the darkness of Yeowoo Cave. It is there that the Gumiho, Mihyun, reveals her plans for revenge.

"The Plague God shall now embrace all of Dalbeol... No, all of Donghae!"
