"At last... it will finally be complete! My blood, my will, my... my final price. My daughter... the final offering to complete... me!"

Wasn't it ages ago that Orwen's birth mother died? Gabriella had swept Orwen to the altar in the blink of an eye.

"Had I known you would interfere, I would've separated you two by any means necessary."

Gabriella—or rather, Cartian—spoke of the Darkheart, half-bloods whose veins carry blood far darker than that of ordinary mortals. The truth became clear: she was speaking of Orwen, the child she had targeted from the very beginning.

Cartian, who had lived under countless names, now faced a new despair before the Black Death NPC Knowledge Item. And the answer to overcoming that despair was none other than her daughter, Orwen. She was Cartian's key.

"To save this world... our family... you! I had no choice but to seek greater knowledge—greater power! ...Join me, daughter, and together... we will survive. Forever."

"Follow me, Edana. I'll crush you myself. And once you're out of the way, I'll finally claim this child's body. Then at last... I shall ascend to the realm of the <b>demigods</b>."

And with that, Cartian and Orwen vanished. Not far off, Cartian would await my arrival.
