Chapter 9: The Dying Flames
Seonhwa couldn't give up on Seodong like that. She persuaded the traveler and Dolswe NPC Knowledge to calm down Jigwi. Just like extinguishing embers with thick bedding, they decided to put out Seodong's fire. But Dolswe found something strange in Lady Maya's words. Without explaining what it was, he left to find out. The traveler made a straw doll to lure Jigwi to the sacrament house NPC Knowledge. And to prevent the Jigwi from burning down the whole world, they lured him to an abandoned village with no people and confronted him there. However, the more they fought, the fiercer Jigwi's flames grew. It was because his love for Seonhwa wouldn't cool down. Just when the fight was reaching its limit.
"Seodong!!"
Seonhwa and Dolswe returned. Seeing Seonhwa, Jigwi's flames died down as if it never burned. Then Seonhwa told Seodong the truth. In fact, Seodong, who was born after Lady Maya remarried Sogyeong, was actually the posthumous child from her previous husband. At first, she didn't know she was pregnant, so when Seodong was born seven months after the remarriage, they mistakenly thought he was a premature baby. And as he grew, having no resemblance to Sogyeong, Sogyeong realized Seodong wasn't his biological child and left him at the Infirmary.
With the certainty that they weren't real siblings, Seodong finally turned back into a human. He then told the traveler and Dolswe what he did in Bukpo as a centipede. He said he refined swellfish Knowledge Item poison and delivered it to Lee Duksoo NPC Knowledge.
