Chapter 4: A Forlorn Gaze
There stood a man, gazing forlornly at the ceaseless grievances of the people.
"How foolish Humans can be. Unable to tell fortune and misfortune apart!"
This man was Seunghee. With a keen eye, he observed the traveler and Dolswe NPC Knowledge, guiding them to converse with the venerable Goddess Samsin NPC Knowledge.
"The child cries out, and the mother weeps. But what on earth are you all doing...? I've given love and taught faith, yet I continue... to wither away."
Someone had driven a stake into the vital water vein, causing the sacred Samsin Tree NPC Knowledge to wither. The traveler, with a heart full of resolve, pulled out the stake, quenching the thirst of the ancient tree. News soon spread through the town that the missing children had returned.
However, it was not the Samsin Tree that had taken the children. It was the work of bounty hunters, acting under someone's orders, the same someone who had driven the stake as well! Seunghee, his anger boiling to the tips of his hair, roared with fury. Who was the mastermind behind the stake and the abduction of the children?
