The only thing I could do, before the painting's secret would be revealed
to the entire world, was to find some way to hide it.
The king would later make a show of bringing forth the fake piece, painted black to depict death itself,
while I upheld his royal decree to keep it hidden from the world in return for saving my life.
"The rightful owner, this painting shall beckon,
to break the frame's curse, they'll come with King's Key in hand..."
...I wish to introduce you to someone, Your Highness.
Would you mind stepping out for some fresh air while we wait?
Ah, we recently acquired a telescope from the distant lands of Everfrost.
You will find it atop Epheria Sentry Post.

This place... it's where His Royal Majesty and you would ascend to together, Your Highness.
Especially when he sought refuge from the ever-present eyes of the masses...
The two of you frequented Port Epheria quite often.
Dreaming of the day you would be free to walk hand in hand without a care in the world...
Anyway, the magic paint I used to hide the painting that sits within that frame
was an item acquired from the far-off Arid Land, now known as O'dyllita.
My guest is someone who can remove that coat of paint
and restore the painting back to its original state.
