Perhaps even the poisoning of the late King Guy Seric...
I mean, the king was known for his mad pursuits,
and still... maybe he sought to erase the royal bloodline
accused of being half-tainted by witch's blood.
As His Majesty entrusted me with the king's chest, Dahad Seric spoke these words.
His mother of Hexe blood... his lineage may have been known to his trusted few,
but Nova, her very existence itself
would have been wielded as a weapon by them.
Dahad Seric cast aside his Valkyries, trading them for his royal guard,
armed with mace and shield... and the princess hidden within.
While none were certain, they'd soon realize that the bloodline of the Arid Land flowed through her...
In the end, those that swore fealty would foment rebellion from within.
O resplendent star of Calpheon,
who was never given the chance to shine her light.
Having to always don a mask, hidden within the armored guard, day after day,
walking atop the frozen planes alone for what may have seemed like countless nights...
You were never alone.
For unto you... you had a "family," who made up your entire world.
Looking back, even this secret house used by the Kalshurnise
was first founded by your brethren, Guy and Leonardo NPC Knowledge Seric.
All for your sake...

Something's written in the language of the Ancient Kingdom of Orzeca, illegible to common folk.
"Echidna Convent"
A convent of the kingdom of Orzeca dedicated to the divine Thornwood NPC Knowledge tree, Quturan.
The convent was established by the immortal High Priestess Echidna...
"Echidna's Children"
To provide vessels for Kzarka and the Orzecan war of conquest, Echidna planted her seeds
within the flesh of warriors consumed by the Quturan, whose roots bloomed new life.
Of the children birthed from this process, those showing promise were given
ashes of burnt Quturan roots to inhale, granting them new life,
reborn as devoted warriors obeying Echidna's words alone.
With the vines of the Quturan wrapped around their arms,
they freely wielded the manifested weapon to massacre enemies at will.
The blood they shed on the battlefield became nutrients taken in by the Quturan,
that only further hastened the coming of the evil god Kzarka...
These are all records regarding Orzeca, Echidna, or the convent.
And yet, you notice a book written in different handwriting.
...Is it research?
You notice the signature of Dahad Seric himself.
One of the secrets to Orzeca's prosperity
lay in their practice of planting branches cut from the divine tree, Quturan.
Of course, these trees paled in comparison to the original divine tree,
and planting their branches would reduce the power of Quturan,
eventually to naught but mere ordinary trees.
Still, the Orzecans had succeeded in creating mutations that retained a portion of Quturan's power.
