However, the happy life of the three did not last long. One day, their mother suddenly departed to the afterlife. After that, Bae Muryong began to assign dangerous tasks to his two daughters. The twins had extensive knowledge of flowers and herbs. He ordered them to make poisons instead of cures.

"Hmm... So, this is 'the medicine?'"
"It was mixed by Hongryeon herself, so there's no doubt about it."
"As you promised, please build a proper tomb so our mother can be laid to rest."
"I will. Now leave, and tell Eunsil to come in."
"...Alright."

Janghwa and Hongryeon knew their father was making them do bad things. But their mother didn't even have a grave because their father hated her so much. To properly build their mother's grave and pray for her soul, they had no choice but to follow their father's orders, even if they didn't want to.
