Chapter 8: An Unbreakable Grudge
"As if... you had never bloomed... Wither away."
With an unbreakable grudge, Janghwa and Hongryeon perished, only to be reborn as vengeful yogwes deep in the Flower-sunken Swamp. They attacked as if they wanted to tear apart the world before them.
"Cloudrise!!"
Jung Hwadam NPC Knowledge of Woodo School appeared and saved the traveler and Dolswe NPC Knowledge. The three of them took refuge in Woodo School. Using the trinket Janghwa left for the traveler, they glimpsed into the past of the Bae family through the dream-weaving well, a sacred relic of Woodo School.
Bae Muryong, born into a humble family, studied alone to achieve success and passed the highest state examination. Master Jung, a powerful figure who noticed him, recruited Bae Muryong into his faction. He said he'd take Muryong as his son-in-law, but his daughter is already with child. They saw Janghwa, Hongryeon, and their mother being sent to a small room, and the three of them living happily in that cramped space.
...And once again, to marry into another powerful family, Bae Muryong personally fed poison to Janghwa and Hongryeon's mother. They even saw Bae Muryong trying to poison the young sisters. But the girls recognized the poison without consuming it, and even after ingesting it, they survived. And... they saw Hongryeon, forced by Bae Muryong's son, Jangswe, throwing herself into the pond.
The whole truth left the traveler and Dolswe heartbroken. Who did Bae Muryong harm with the poison made by the sisters? Then, they heard news that the sisters, now vengeful yogwes, were spreading their malice in the world.
