Chapter 1: When Chunhyang Met Mongryong

In the serene Hanji County of the Land of the Morning Light, there lived a noble Yangban named Seong Siwon. The esteemed Vice Minister Seong had but one cherished daughter, Chunhyang. Yet, his heart was heavy with concern, for he had no son to carry on his lineage.

"Excuse me... Is this the residence of Lord Seong?"

One fateful day, an enigmatic woman appeared at Siwon's doorstep, holding the hand of a young boy. This child was none other than Mongryong, the son of Siwon's old friend, Lee Iseong. With his family fallen into ruin, Mongryong was the sole survivor. Moved by compassion, Siwon welcomed the boy into his home as one of his own.

At first, Chunhyang, Siwon's daughter, was distant and awkward around Mongryong, who had suddenly become part of their family. However, as time passed, the two grew inseparable, their bond deepening into a friendship like no other. Observing their closeness with satisfaction, Siwon decided to accept Mongryong as his son-in-law.

Thus, Mongryong and Chunhyang were now promised to each other, their fates intertwined by a solemn vow.
