Chapter 9: The Younger Sibling

There's also an ending where the Daeho leaves this world as a human. This version begins with Daeho's younger brother, Daesuk.

Hyang-goong NPC Knowledge said that Daesuk's dream was to join the Poongmool Troupe. The traveler went to see Daesuk's friend, Namsuk, in Byeot County, who told them he was guilt-ridden over his friend's death.

The two friends had gone from Nampo to Byeot County on an errand for the Poongmool Troupe. It was a mysterious errand where they were to move a box to the pier while the troupe played their instruments.

Namsuk had accidentally lifted the lid to glimpse a tiger cub inside... and ran away in terror. Not long after, Daesuk was killed in a tiger attack. The reason behind Sangoon NPC Knowledge's fury was becoming clearer.

The Apex Changui NPC Knowledge only appeared at the sound of chasers... and that may have been because the sound reminded him of his brother, Daesuk. Old Lady Birigongdeok NPC Knowledge connected Sangoon's pain of losing his cub to Daeho's pain of losing his brother and prepared a Tiger Mask Ritual.

The Apex Changui appeared at the sound of kkwaengwari, and the traveler could barely hold out until the ritual reached its peak. Then, Namsuk appeared wearing Daesuk's mask!

As if reminded of his brother, the Apex Changui quelled his rage, entered the ritual, and chose to move on to the next life himself. Daesuk and Daeho no longer need to worry about tiger attacks.
