Chapter 1: Mountainside Tavern of Beombawi Valley
There once was a mountainside tavern in Beombawi Valley.
Though the tavern was not as well-known as those of other villages, it greatly aided those who traversed the rough terrains of the valley. Thanks to Auntie Hyang-goong NPC Knowledge, even travelers short on money never worried about tiger attacks. Her warm hospitality ensured their safety.
One day, a father and his two sons came to the mountainside tavern. After losing their mother, the father was left to raise these young boys on his own. The older son was Daeho, and the younger was Daesuk.
In the spring, the family gathered wild herbs to bring to the Auntie, and in the summer they came to catch fish by the stream. In the fall, they lent a hand helping out at the tavern, and in the winter, they brought cute little bamboo sprouts as gifts.
Time passed, the sons grew older, and Daeho brought home with him a young lady. And in no time at all, the two grew closer and closer. They became family, and their days were filled with bliss.
However, there came a day when a firm silence fell over the tavern. Perplexing tiger attacks had become rampant in Beombawi Valley, and travelers stopped coming by.
