Objective
Chapter 6: All-Out War
Lafi departed first, carrying the records back, while we pressed on—determined to find a way to open the gates of Zephyros Castle. But then, a sudden darkness swept over us. Drawn to its source, we found a priest of the Shadow Knights awaiting our arrival.
"You, the one hailed as a hero. If you truly are the chosen one, then you'll understand our cause."
He tried to sway me, claiming that Caphras NPC Knowledge's will was the world's only salvation—and urged me to abandon my quest here. Was he asking me, like the other rulers of Edania, to simply accept the end? The moment I refused, the priest attacked without hesitation. As we cut down the swarming fiends and Shadow Knights, they summoned a strange figure clad in black armor.
Yet, instead of joining their assault, the armored being turned on the Shadow Knights who summoned him. He fixed his gaze upon me, murmured something indecipherable, and vanished into the gloom.
"...You... are... the chosen..."
Were they not allies after all? The question lingered, but there was no time for doubt. Using the pendant taken from the priest, we discovered a hidden cave north of Zephyros. Within its depths lay the relic we'd once seen in the Ancient Stone Chamber and Cron Castle.
"Records from Cron Castle mentioned that this relic was used in a ritual to call forth Hadum. Maybe it's being used as a conduit to draw out the power of darkness?"
With the power of the Black Spirit NPC Knowledge, I shattered the relic. Then, together with Orwen and Goyen, we set our sights on Zephyros Castle—our next, fateful destination.
