Objective
When Maehwa Flowers Blossom III - Eternal Farewell
The day Ija decided to step down from his office position and establish an institute, he asked Seolhwa for her hand in marriage with plans to settle down in the south and start a new life. She rejected Ija's proposal, however, and suggested that they spend the following winter together when the maehwa flowers bloom.
The time they spent together was as cold as winter, up to the day he was to depart. However, at the moment he was about to set off, she reached for his clothes and fell into his arms in tears.
He held her close, then with heavy footsteps, he turned away and headed south.
Ija walked a long ways and settled down to establish the institute, where he built a courtyard and planted a maehwa tree. He toiled away on the soil and watered the tree, lost in thoughts of Seolhwa, when a servant of his came hurrying with news that made him slump to the ground.
The news that his servant brought was of Seolhwa's death.
His servant handed to him a single dry branch of a maehwa tree and Seolhwa's final letter, and this is what was written inside.
